Public Boards

Board sharing lets other people view a curated collection of Bookmarks.

Share a Board publicly​

  1. Open the Board menu.
  2. Select Share.
  3. Change access from Private to Public Link.
  4. Save changes.
  5. Copy the share link.

Visitors can open the public Board without signing in when access is public.

Visitors see your Board the way you arrange it​

A shared Board follows your own view settings, both on the link and in an embed:

  • Order — your sort (Newest, Oldest, Title, or Manual after you drag cards into place).
  • View — Card, List, Condensed or Moodboard (including your Moodboard tile size and Images only).
  • Card fields and size — the cover, title, description, tags and site you show on cards, and your card width.
  • Covers — a cover you uploaded or picked replaces the site's own image.
  • Appearance — your Light or Dark mode and your theme. If Marqly follows your system setting, each visitor sees their own.

Change any of these in Marqly and the shared Board updates on the next visit. Bookmark dates are never shown to visitors.

Public Board page​

A public Board can show:

  • Cover image or gradient.
  • Breadcrumb.
  • Board title.
  • Bookmark count.
  • Updated date.
  • View count.
  • Description.
  • Duplicate Board.
  • Share.
  • Search when the Board has enough Bookmarks.

Duplicate Board​

Signed-in visitors can duplicate a public Board into their own Marqly library. Visitors who are not signed in are prompted to create or sign in to an account.

Embed a Board on your website​

Any shared Board — Public or password-protected — can be displayed inside an iframe on any website.

  1. Open the Board menu and select Share.
  2. Set access to Public (or Password Protected) and save.
  3. In the Share dialog, copy the Embed code and paste it into your HTML.

The snippet looks like this (replace the ID with your Board's):

Customize what visitors see (Pro)​

Pro plans choose what the embedded Board shows in the Share dialog. Open Preferences to adjust:

  • Layout — My layout (default: the view you use in Marqly), or always Cards, List (one row per bookmark), Condensed (tight two-column rows) or Moodboard.
  • Board title — the name, description and the copy-board button at the top.
  • Creator & stats — the "Curated by…" line with the bookmark count and update date.
  • Appearance — My setting (default: your Light/Dark mode), or always Light or always Dark (&theme=light / &theme=dark).

With both display toggles off you get a content-only embed: visitors see just the bookmarks, with a small linked "Created with Marqly" note at the bottom. The embed code updates as you change anything — the layout and display choices also persist with the Board, so reopening Share shows what you saved. Your clipboard keeps whatever code you copied most recently. Password-protected Boards open with the password prompt inside the iframe.

These settings apply to the shared page itself too: view=cards, view=list, view=condensed or view=moodboard works on https://app.marqly.com/s/YourShareId?view=list. Without view=, the page uses your own layout.

Notes:

  • The src must be an absolute https://app.marqly.com/... URL. A path like /s/YourShareId on its own resolves against your domain and shows your site's 404 page. Links on marqly.com go to the marketing site — Boards live on app.marqly.com.
  • ?embed=1 shows the Board on its own: no top navigation and no sign-up pop-up over your page. Without the parameter, the Board still embeds but renders as the full public page.
  • Customization parameters: &title=0, &meta=0, &cards=1 (both), and &view=cards, &view=list, &view=condensed or &view=moodboard. The "Created with Marqly" link always appears on reduced embeds and can't be removed.

Make a Board private again​

  1. Open the Board menu.
  2. Select Share.
  3. Change access to Private.
  4. Save changes.

Private Boards are not available to public visitors.
